Director of Family Support:
Hybrid schedule consisting of remote and in-the-office located in Camp Hill, PA
The Center for Schools & Communities (CSC), a statewide education, training and technical assistance organization, is seeking qualified candidates for this full time position. This position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation monitoring, and oversight of sustainable, revenue-generating initiatives and statewide projects related to family strengthening, prevention of child maltreatment, promotion of child and family well-being, home visitation, promotion of family engagement and leadership, community partnerships, related projects, and serves as the Director of the Parents as Teachers state office. Program responsibilities include collaboration and networking with key stakeholders, positioning the Center for Schools and Communities (CSC) / CSIU as a thought leader in the field, and resource development activities. Management tasks include providing overall strategy, guidance, fidelity monitoring, professional development and implementation support to Parent as Teachers (PAT) programs, Children Trust Fund (CTF) grantees and Strengthening Families work, specifically the Strengthening Families Leadership Team. This includes: developing and adhering to project timelines, establishing objectives and evaluating outcomes; fund development and sustainability planning, fiscal management; and the responsibility of monitoring daily operations, supervision of Family Support professional and contracted staff, and serving on the leadership team at the Center for Schools and Communities.

Salary: $85,000 – 95,000 dependent on qualifications. This is an exempt middle-management level position working a 260 day per year, 12-month work schedule. This full-time position follows a regular Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week) work schedule with the opportunity to allow a hybrid work schedule consisting of three (3) days in-office work at the Center for Schools and Communities office located in Camp Hill, PA location and two (2) days telework from home and/or approved off-site locations. In addition, face-to-face interaction with clients, meetings and trainings may be required on days deemed as teleworking days. Certain requirements, based upon CSIU telework policy and administrative regulations, must be met. The CSIU has the right to cancel or suspend the employee teleworking privileges at any time, for any or no reason due to the requirement of the CSIU and client needs.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Minimum requirements are a Master's degree in education, social work or related field and minimum 10 years’ work experience of in cross systems work and family engagement or program planning/development, or program management/collaboration. Will consider a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field and a minimum of 15 years’ work experience with experience of in cross systems work and family engagement or program management.
- Minimum three (3) years in a supervisory role. Five (5) years is preferred.
- Experience with Parents as Teachers (parent educator, coach, family development specialist or supervisor).
- Experience with fiscal management, budgeting and oversight, grant seeking, writing and management, project management, and compliance.
- Understanding of adult theories of learning and organizational training, including experience in developing training and group facilitation/training skills (with an understanding and appreciation of different types of adult learners and learning styles).
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Knowledge of human service, education and health systems and programs and experience working with state government.
- Understanding of group dynamics and its impact on organizational change.
- Ability to prioritize, manage and organize multiple activities.
- Ability to work independently and willingness to be a team player.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients both internal and external. Must maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, trust, and confidentiality.
- Excellent writing skills, including experience in writing for professional publications including resource and research articles, grants, web newsletters and correspondence.
- Experience with work involving families, community-based services programs and early childhood and education agencies and systems.
- Knowledge of processes related to government funding and educational agencies.
- Excellent research skills, utilizing the internet, as well as print and other credible sources. Understanding of program evaluation and methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google, Outlook, Zoom, Teams).
- Experience in developing new and sustainable funding streams preferred.
- Understanding of data collection, analysis, and reporting using platforms such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software preferred.
- Proficiency in utilizing vetted artificial intelligence (AI) is preferred and ability to enhance these skills will be required
