This position serves as the Office Automation Senior Architect performing complex professional and advisory functions including architecting, governing, planning, designing, documenting, deploying, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting development of State of Illinois websites, currently using Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform, as well as other products and services under the OAS realm, for enterprise level customers. 

In this role you will serve as a project lead administering and monitoring the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform delivery to ensure the operational health of the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform environment including availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability, as well as other products under the OAS realm. 

In addition, you will serve as primary support for scheduled and remedial maintenance and assist in architecting and coordinating project components such as project scheduling and assignments for complex projects including the planning of technical considerations.

Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, serves as the Office Automation Senior Architect for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing complex, professional, and advisory functions and services of a complex nature including architecting, governing, planning, designing, documenting, deploying, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting development of complex State of Illinois websites.
  • Serves as a project team lead and coordinator on assigned complex IT projects.
  • Evaluates and monitors tools and platform environments ensuring their operational health including availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability.
  • Serves as primary support for scheduled and remedial maintenance of applications and platforms as assigned.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Web Services or a related Information Technology field.
     

Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)

  • Three (3) years of professional experience with architecture, governance, development, and configuration of complex applications within the Microsoft 365 environment, including integration with enterprise-level applications and solutions.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience building enterprise applications, automated workflows, reports, and configurations utilizing Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, Power Automate, Power Apps) SharePoint, Teams, and One Drive.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience leading complex IT related projects for a large scale private or public organization, including coordinating cross-functional teams and managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience administering and maintaining enterprise cloud platforms and tools, including Azure, Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policies, Mobile Device Management (MDM), PowerShell scripting, and Microsoft Endpoint solutions.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing development and analysis tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, NET Framework, UML, process flow mapping, use case modeling, and change management methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze and logically interpret complex data to identify operational or procedural issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Ability to provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to teams or peers to achieve project and organizational goals.

Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
