Full time Middle and High School Social Worker
Minimum Qualifications: • Current State of Michigan Master’s Degree Social Work License (or Limited License MSW). LLMSWs are required to obtain their LMSW as prescribed by the state licensing board. • Must meet Michigan Department of Education requirements for certification or full/temporary approval as a School Social Worker and licensing from the Department of Community Health • Experience working with high school students and families
Preferred Qualifications: • Michigan School Social Work Certification (SSW-310). • Experience working with middle and high school-aged children. Required Responsibilities: • Provide direct and indirect social work services to students in need of emotional, behavioral, and social support. • Develop and implement individualized support plans and interventions. • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success. • Facilitate small group and individual counseling sessions. • Assist with crisis intervention and behavior management strategies. • Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings to advocate for student needs. Support students and families in accessing community resources. • Complete faculty responsibilities per the Academy Master Teacher Contract Work Year: Mid-August through Mid-June (Social workers work 10 days before and 10 days after contractual calendar)
Compensation: • Salary: Commensurate with education and experience, per the Arts Academy in the Woods Master Agreement Certified Teacher Salary Scale ο BA Step1 - $43,000 – MA+30 Step 15 - $80,396 • Benefit package available, including premium free medical and dental; MPSERS retirement; and low premium family vision per the Arts Academy in the Woods Teacher Master Contract • Position would be within the American Federation of Teachers, Michigan Alliance of Charter Teachers and Staff, Arts Academy in the Woods Federation of Teachers, AFT Michigan, AFL-CIO.
