Design and Development Engineer

This position functions as part of the design and development team, with focus on system or component performance and integration. This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Perform engineering design evaluations and participate in the development of new products.

DUTIES

• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
• Provide preliminary engineering calculations, specifications, sketches and layouts for job estimation
• Prepare concept and design drawings with supporting calculations and material data
• Provide support in checking details, assemblies and bill of material for projects
• Confer with engineers and other personnel to resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information
• Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to provide cost effective solutions to performance problems
• Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
• Apply fundamental engineering principles along with advanced analytical techniques throughout the new product design process
• Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering - Required

Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical components
