Licensed Program Supervisor- Outpatient

The Outpatient Program Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and clinical services of our adult, child, and substance use outpatient units.

 

  • The ideal candidate will be an organized and proactive leader with a strong clinical background, a keen eye for quality, and a passion for supporting both clients and staff in a community health setting.
  • The position will provide clinical and administrative supervision and leadership to a team of senior clinicians, provide consultation on high-risk or complex cases and guide clinicians in risk management strategies, crisis intervention, and appropriate escalation of care for individuals who present with safety concerns.
  • The supervisor is responsible for monitoring budget, payroll, workflows, ensuring supervision requirements are met and maintained by senior clinicians, completing annual performance evaluations, and managing progressive discipline.
  • Data collection and reporting, program evaluation, tracking key performance indicators, and coordination of program services with internal and external partners is also central to this role.
  • This position requires familiarity with behavioral health regulatory and licensing standards and ensures that all services are provided in an appropriate manner according to applicable DBHDS, Medicaid, CIBH, city, state, federal policies and regulations.

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of four years of related, full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

  • Requires State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, or Counselor.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City’s Driving Standards.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
