Responsibilities

• Interpret client needs and design mechanical systems that are code compliant, and industry best practices.
• Perform engineering analysis, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts, to develop efficient and reliable solutions.
• Support preliminary designs and cost-competitive solutions for budgeting and proposals.
• Design systems including:
  • Low- and high-pressure steam
  • Chilled water and DX cooling
  • Hot water heating
  • Ducted air distribution
  • Industrial piping and ventilation
  • Domestic water, storm, waste, and vent systems
  • Medical gas systems
• Prepare design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, narratives, reports, and recommendations.
• Develop and edit mechanical specifications, select equipment, and review submittals.
• Deliver final design solutions ensuring alignment with client goals and project deadlines.
• Lead and coordinate the design team from conceptual design through final construction documents.
• Support field staff throughout installation and start up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related field.
• Solid foundation in mathematics, problem solving, and critical thinking.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with design teams and clients.
• Strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Programs.
• Ability to conduct site visits, including climbing, crawling, and working outdoors.
• In pursuit of FE certification and willing to attain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

What You’ll Do

• Design HVAC, plumbing, and process systems that meet codes, deadlines, and client needs
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and design reports
• Support project budgets, proposals, and final design solutions
• Review submittals, select equipment, and coordinate with project teams
• Lead design efforts from concept through construction documents

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology (or related field)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• FE certification (PE track encouraged)
