Process Engineer
Position Summary:
The Process Engineer position develops, implements, and maintains optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes, equipment operating programs, and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates and or participates in manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, production equipment, and equipment operating programs.
- Prepare labor quotes for customers.
- Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment operating programs for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Prepares/manufactures prototypes as required utilizing the principals of concurrent engineering.
- Responsible for the development of work instructions using manufacturing engineering practices.
- Evaluates and approves drawings and other documents.
- Evaluates and solves production problems.
- Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
- Conducts training on current and new processes.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
