Electrical Engineer

Overview:

We are currently hiring an entry level Electrical Engineer for our client Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding (HII-NNS) in Newport News, VA.

 

Description:

This position is part of the Facilities projects team responsible for design, bid & award, construction, commissioning, LCAM, and close-out for various infrastructure projects. This role participates in following activities:

  • Conducting studies, assessing risk, developing options and producing High Level Feasibility Estimates (HLFEs).
  • Development of project plans to include project justification, scope, deliverables, risks, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaboration with design agents, technical experts and other stakeholder on design and project execution plan.
  • Review of designs for adherence to performance goals and constructability objectives.
  • Ensuring safety of team members, shipyard employees and contractors in the implementation of projects.
  • Ensuring that project comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Working with suppliers to implement project work in a safe and high quality manner.
  • Ensuring quality and accuracy of contractor deliverables, to include designs and technical specifications.
  • Financial aspects of the project to include, budgeting, progressing, and contractor payment approval.
  • Schedule adherence and critical path management.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems as it pertains to facility infrastructure design and construction.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. (Electrical preferred).
  • US Citizenship. (DoD work)

Additional Information:

  • This position is fully onsite in Newport News, VA.
  • US citizenship is required. 
  • There is NO relocation offered for this opportunity.
