Responsibilities: Under general supervision, the Project Engineer is responsible for reviewing, preparing, and recommending revisions to sanitary and water construction design plans for proposed projects. This position oversees the preparation, drafting, and maintenance of project drawings using AutoCAD; reviews engineering calculations, estimates, and specifications; and ensures compliance with county policies, industry standards, and regulatory agencies such as Ohio EPA and ODOT. The Project Engineer provides leadership and direction to inspectors and drafting staff, assigns and monitors daily project tasks, and ensures quality control of internal and third-party work. Duties also include coordinating with engineers, survey crews, developers, contractors, and the public to resolve design issues; reviewing and approving permits and purchase requisitions; tracking demolition and sewer extension projects; and assisting in all phases of construction projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal staff and external stakeholders.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in drafting and design. Possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
