Gaston Social Services: Protecting, caring for, and empowering children and adults who are temporarily or permanently unable to care for themselves through the administration of federal, state, and county programs focused on improving the well-being of our citizens.

An hourly salary range of $33.79 to $39.29 is anticipated for this position.
 

Examples of Duties:

 

The duties listed below are not all that may be assigned but are considered essential for an employee to perform.

  • Conduct trauma focused assessments to understand the child victim's situation and determine how best to provide services to child and non-offending caregiver. Conduct weekly sessions using TF-CBT model or other approved trauma modality, as recommended.
  • Document session goals, outcomes, and data regarding participant demographics and attendance. Prepare written reports, data analysis, and statistics as required for grants and other reporting requirements.
  • Participate in MDT case review and staffing to discuss case needs, therapeutic strategies, and overall healing.
  • Coordinate and link clients with services within the community (i.e. financial services, housing, employment, medical, mental health, etc.)
  • Prepare activities and sessions using trauma focused and victim friendly resources.
  • Other duties as assigned and relevant. This includes ongoing continuing education and training relevant to clinical licensure and staffing Social Services response to community emergency shelter as need arises.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling or MSW
  • Two years of directly related experience in human services with experience in areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning.
  • State licensure or provisional licensure.

Additional Information:

The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.

In compliance with G.S.153A-94.2 (b), if the position being filled requires an applicant for employment to work with children in any capacity, the County must require the applicant, if offered the position, to be subject to a criminal history record check conducted by the SBI. These checks must be performed in accordance with G.S.143B-1209.26, which authorizes the SBI to provide fingerprint-based state and national criminal record checks to cities and counties.
