Hydrologic Modeler (Engineer Scientist I-IV)

Job Summary: Performs hydrologic modeling and data analysis to support water resources management, flood protection, water quality improvements, environmental restoration, and minimum flows and levels assessment. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Engineer Scientist I requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field.

Engineer Scientist II requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field and one year of professional experience in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field.

Engineer Scientist III requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field and four years of professional experience directly related to the field in which the position is assigned.

Engineer Scientist IV requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field and six years of experience directly related to the field in which the position is assigned.

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field can substitute for one year of the required experience. 

A doctorate from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field can substitute for two years of the required experience.

Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

Mostly office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products. 

Periodic field visits may occur, which would require the ability to endure outdoor environments in uncomfortable temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations.

 

Travel:

Minimal travel to attend off-site meetings, sometimes outside of normal business hours including overnight.

Starting Salary Range:   

Engineer Scientist I: $53,580.80 - $66,955.20

Engineer Scientist II: $57,324.80 - $71,635.20

Engineer Scientist III: $67,496.00 - $87,734.40

Engineer Scientist IV: $72,238.40 - $93,891.20

Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
