Position Summary

NOTE:  CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME.

*In accordance with the provisions of the Students First Act 2011-270,non-probationary status may not be attained by virtue of employment in this position. This is a three-year grant-funded position. In the event that funds for this position are discontinued or significantly reduced or if requirements for funding the project no longer include this position, the College shall have the right to discontinue the position. Neither tenure nor non-probationary status may be attained in this position, the funding and duration of which are finite.

 

Under the direction of the CIRSS Project Manager, the employee is responsible for coordinating the recruitment, outreach, and registration processes, events, and activities for the dual enrollment students. This position develops and assists high school students in enrolling and completing post-secondary education for transfer to four-year institutions orto enter the skilled workforce.

 

Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E3 03 ($45,220-$62,710), which is based on years of directly related full-time experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Other duties may be assigned by the CIRSS Project Manager, Dean of Instruction and/or the President.

 

 

  1. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  2. Work closely with high school teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student success.
  3. Contact high school students via classroom or group presentations, one-on-one sessions, and/or student organizations meetings; conduct classroom presentations in area high schools, middle schools, and career centers.
  4. Travel to service area schools and training sessions are required.
  5. Collaboratively develop effective presentations and activities to facilitate dual enrollment.
  6. Promote and recruit students for dual enrollment in service area.
  7. Evaluate program outcomes as required by the funding agent and develop a plan for necessary improvements.
  8. Engage in strategic enrollment professional development and continuously monitor enrollment processes at the College.
  9. Regularly engage in professional learning activities and actively seek information about development trends and best practices for dual enrollment.
  10. Comply with policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, FERPA, the College, and each assigned school.
  11. Coordinate activities with other College departments.
  12. Coordinate the Dual Enrollment Program at local high schools.
  13. Conduct orientation sessions for teachers to identify aspects of the dual enrollment program, as well as CVCC policies, regulations, and requirements.
  14. Disseminate information to students, parents, and target schools prior to each registration period about available dual-credit classes.
  15. Coordinate CVCC registrations at the high schools to include providing admissions application information to students; collecting approval forms and dual enrollment applications from high school officials; assisting students with ordering high school transcripts; and assisting students with registration processes.
  16. Coordinate CVCC registrations at the high schools to include providing class rosters, collecting the verified rosters, providing and collecting final class rosters, and coordinating classroom visitation and student evaluations.
  17. Maintain proper files on dual enrollment, coordinate the registration of dual enrollment students and share information with teachers and College instructors as needed.
  18. Assist with and participate in recruiting activities, campus tours, Preview Day, and New Student Experience.
  19. Refer prospective dual enrollment instructors to the Director of Human Resources and Dean of Instruction.
  20. Assist with and participate in recruiting activities, campus tours, Preview Day, and New Student Experience.
  21. Assist with ensuring that information communicated in College publications, the College website, and other College resources about dual enrollment is updated and accurate.
  22. Develop dual enrollment literature for recruitment purposes.


 

  1. As a Campus Security Authority (CSA), report to the official or office designated by the institution to collect crime report information, such as the campus police or security department, those allegations of Clery Act crimes that the CSA conclude were made in good faith.

 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of identified sensitive information and of departmental information.
  3. Remain current in and enhance professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.
  4. Interact with and provide courteous professional service to students and employees representing a broad range of background and experiences.
  5. Adhere to College standards of professionalism and confidentiality, including courteous and friendly interaction with other CVCC employees.
  6. Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in State and College policies and assigned by supervisor or dean.
  7. Recruit potential students for the College and assist in retention efforts.
  8. Represent the institution in a positive manner.
  9. Participate in early registration, regular registration, and schedule adjustment as assigned.
  10. Serve on committees as assigned.
  11. Attend department and division meetings.
  12. Participate in graduation.
  13. Participate in the strategic planning and strategic enrollment management planning processes.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, marketing, communication, or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience in higher education, preferably within a community college setting Experience using student information systems (e.g. Banner, Ellucian) and learning management systems
  •  Experience advising or counseling high school and college students regarding academic pathways 
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • High degree of workplace professionalism
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and writing; proficiency in the English language;
  •  Competent use of the Microsoft Office suite
