Elementary Robotics Instructor

Elementary Robotics, Coding & FIRST LEGO League Instructor

Location: Boca Raton, FL (Northeast Boca Raton)
Schedule: Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

  • Current term: Now through May 8, 2026
  • Additional opportunity: 2026–2027 school year (September 11, 2026 – May 7, 2027)
    Compensation: $200 per day, plus bonus opportunities
    Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

We are a Christian homeschool S.T.E.A.M. organization seeking an enthusiastic and dependable instructor to lead a robotics and coding class for students ages 10–12 (approximately 15 children).

Using the FIRST LEGO League curriculum (provided), the instructor will guide students in learning the fundamentals of coding, robotics, and problem-solving while also fostering teamwork, perseverance, and positive character traits aligned with FIRST LEGO League Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to a fixed, once-per-week schedule with consistent attendance
  • Lead a group of 15 students through hands-on robotics and coding lessons
  • Assist students with LEGO building and coding using the Scratch-based LEGO platform
  • Follow provided FIRST LEGO League curriculum and lesson plans (training and materials provided)
  • Take initiative in learning the FIRST LEGO League program and contributing to a positive, engaging classroom culture
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment
  • Communicate professionally with program leadership and staff
  • Attend occasional Saturday competitions (compensated separately based on event needs)

Qualifications

  • Experience with coding and a working knowledge of Scratch
  • Experience with LEGO and/or robotics
  • Comfortable leading a classroom of elementary-aged children (with support from an assistant and additional leadership)
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and reliability
  • Prior experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps) preferred
  • Prior experience with FIRST LEGO League or FIRST programs is a plus, but not required
