Speech Language Pathologist
Position Summary/Career Interest
The speech language pathologist works as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team. They perform an individualized evaluation, design goal-directed customized interventions to improve the patient’s cognitive function, swallow safety and ability to communicate. They periodically review the patient’s performance to ensure that the goals are being met and/or make changes to the intervention plan.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to perform professional, clinical and or technical competencies
- Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.
- Evaluates patients in clinical area. Therapist considers all aspects of the patient including the physical, psychosocial, developmental, and cultural needs. Evaluation results are communicated to the physician, family, and other team members in a clear and concise manner.
- Develops and implements treatment plans using appropriate problem-solving skills, and clinical reasoning. The therapist serves as a resource to staff members and students
- Documentation is clear and concise, and in compliance with departmental, ASHA guidelines, and regulatory requirements from third party payers.
- Demonstrates understanding of regulatory requirements as it pertains to the clinical area served
- Follows all departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Meets all state requirements for continuing education with the Missouri Board of Healing Arts.
- Demonstrates good rapport with patients and professionalism with other professionals, patients, and family members.
- Demonstrates willingness to help out in all areas and recognize the needs of the entire department.
- May provide educational programs through in-services to interdisciplinary colleagues, and teaching labs to the Speech students.
- May provide student supervision for Level II students, utilizing a wide variety of supervisory styles to enhance student learning.
- May assist to develop, collect, and analyze performance improvement data.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current BLS/CPR
- Missouri license as a Speech Pathologist

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year

We have a full-time SLP opening available at our outpatient clinic! The caseload is primarily pediatrics but does occasionally include some adults. We welcome newly graduated SLPs as well as those graduating soon to apply. We also welcome SLPAs (separate wage range will be provided). The ideal candidate must have a passion for serving others!
