Summer Youth Program Instructor
Professional & Public Programs (P3) is seeking a self-motivated individual to design and instruct supplementary academic courses for school-age children from grades ranging from Kinder to 8 grade.
Academic courses offered by P3 include arithmetic, reading/writing, science/STEAM, and more. Courses are currently divided into multiple grade levels/age ranges (ex: Ages 8-12 or Grades 1-2). Must be a self-starter who is flexible with our programming.
A position as a course instructor would entail classroom management and instruction, syllabus planning and preparation, and engagement of students in activities. The ideal instructor would have some teaching or tutoring experience and education/experience within the field of instruction. However, lack of teaching/work/education experience is not an immediate disqualifier.
Basketball Coach – Youth Summer Camp (Grades 3-8)
As a Basketball Coach for our youth summer camp, you will help young athletes build fundamental basketball skills in a fun and supportive environment. This camp is designed to teach and reinforce the core techniques of the game while also encouraging sportsmanship, confidence, and physical activity. You will lead drills, games, and skill-building exercises that help campers grow both as players and teammates.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about basketball, enjoys working with kids, and knows how to create a positive and structured learning environment. This role is perfect for former players, PE teachers, student-athletes, or anyone with coaching experience looking to make a difference!
P3 Youth Instructors perform various functions; below is a job description example that shows the typical tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the role: Responsible for the instruction of participants; Ensure the well-being of all participants during sessions; Establish a positive relationship with participants, staff, and parents; Be knowledgeable about P3 programs to provide customer service to parents; Act as a role model for participants Actively engage in classroom activities with participants; Implement policies for the safety of participants, equipment, and personal property; Maintain accurate record of course activities and data such as attendance logs, sign in and out log sheets and incident reports; Monitor participants to identify and respond to unruly behavior or deviations from P3 guidelines; Relay information regarding a children’s experience and behavior to Program Coordinator and/or Manager; Collaborate with P3 staff to develop and execute plans for daily activities; Report all incidences to the PC & PM.; Provide necessary assistance to maintain the classroom structure
Qualifications Must be organized, detail-oriented, and flexible.
· Comfortable speaking with parents and communicating effectively with children.
· Positive, service-oriented attitude serving diverse groups of campers in regards to age, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc.
· Previous experience in camp programs is a plus.
· Willing and able to receive training in order to provide a safe and fulfilling summer camp experience.
· Completing required training and documents in a timely manner before employment begins.
· Team player willing to contribute to the culture, mission, and values of the Professional & Public Programs
