IT Auditor (Active Clearance Required)

Required Skills and Responsibilities: Cotton & Company LLP has multiple openings in the Washington, DC area for IT auditors with 2 to 5 years of experience performing federal information security audits. We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented professionals to join our federal IT audit practice. Successful candidates will serve as project team members and perform detailed work on IT security audits for DoD and civilian agencies.

Your Work Hours: Full-time. We'll keep you busy in between the weekends. Core hours are 9am-4pm.

Your Work Place: You will have the opportunity to work at both company headquarters and at various client sites, and must be able to transport a laptop and working documents. Some additional travel may be required.
 
Your Team: You will work directly with your supervisor, manager, and partner on assigned projects. They will work with you in enriching your professional capability, industry knowledge, and interpersonal flair.

The Position Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Major in computer science, accounting, or other technical field preferred.
  • CISA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 18 months experience in information assurance auditing, computer programming, or other relevant areas. 
  • Knowledge of FISCAM, GAAS, applicable programming languages, system applications and hardware components
  • Review documents, records, reports and methods for accuracy and effectiveness
  • Conduct testing and interviews and prepare acceptable workpapers, write-ups, and memos
  • Hold preliminary discussions of apparent deficiencies with supervisor, manager, or partner
  • Report audit findings to supervisor, manager, or partner and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions
  • Ensure work is well organized, with close attention to details
  • Maintain excellent client relations for the firm
  • Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, and company/client deadlines and abide by all company policies
  • Some travel may be required 
  • Active Interim Secret U.S. federal security clearance
