Tax Accountant

Job Title: Tax Accountant
Department: Accounting Team
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Job Summary
The accountant is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports along with notes to the financial statements to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization. As well as preparing sales, payroll, entity election, federal forms and excising tax filings. The associate is responsible for preparing federal, state and local tax returns for businesses, organizations and individuals.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Required)
  • Masters in Accountancy (Preferred)
  • +3 years of experience in accounting
Compensation
  • Fixed + Performance Based Pay per Assignment.
General Accountabilities
  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Prepare notes to financial statements and tax compliance reports
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Assist in development of financial projections and forecasts.
  • Prepare personal (1040 & 1040NR), corporate (1120), foreign corporation (1120F), partnership (1065), Non-Profits (990) and S-Corp (1120S) tax returns.
  • Prepare other misc. federal forms: SS-4, 8832, 2553, 1099, W-2, 1042, 5471, 5472.
  • Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
  • Check data input or verify totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.
  • Prepare schedules to support state and U.S. federal corporation income tax returns, state annual reports, and various international filings by gathering information from SAP and other sources.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Professionally communicate with co-workers, management, and clients to discuss financial matters.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Follow the project manuals in accordance to the project/assignment assigned in OT.
  • Execute tasks assigned by CPA and Operations/ Accounting / Tax Managers.
