CPA Tax Manager

Job Summary
We are looking for a tax and accounting expert to manage and facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s state and federal tax forms. The manager is primarily responsible for building relationships and interacting with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise. Tax managers work to identify tax problems and propose solutions. They will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies. The ideal candidate is single minded in their pursuit of ensuring compliance and achieves this goal through optimizing reporting procedures and driving the successful function of the tax team.
Job Qualifications
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of related tax/public accounting experience.
  • Tax Experience with business/individuals and estate planning.
  • 2+ years of significant supervisory experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant. (Required)
General Responsibilities
  • Adheres to Firm's core values at all times.
  • Files federal, state, and local tax documents by preparing and/or reviewing property tax returns, state pages, and federal, state, and municipal returns, extensions, and quarterly payments.
  • Prepares tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, and consolidating provision schedules.
  • Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues.
  • Maintains legislative materials by reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new or revised laws.
  • Maintains compliance with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Revises procedures by developing and streamlining procedures and worksheets for calculation of tax provisions.
  • Trains and advises staff on tax developments and reviews and evaluates their work.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Follow the project manuals in accordance to the project assigned.
  • Execute tasks assigned by Managing Partner.
