Senior Tax Associate

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail oriented associate to provide financial and tax analysis services. An Associate is a CPA Candidate whose client responsibilities are second only to those of Sr Associate. Associates are primarily responsible for client technical files and relationships within their area of expertise and for clients assigned to them. Associates demonstrate competence in their work and direct the work of staff who work under their direction.The objective is to ensure that clients are in compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA Candidate preferred
  • Minimum of 1 years of accounting experience
  • 1-2 years of working in a public accounting firm, preferred
  • 1-2 years of significant supervisory experience, preferred
General Accountabilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of tax & accounting developments conveyed by the Sr Associate and reviews and evaluates their own work.
  • Trains and advises staff on client files regarding objectives, projections, and/or business plan and reviews and evaluates their work.
  • Assume responsibility to the Sr Associate for technical excellence in accounting principles, financial statement preparation, taxation, and one or more specialty areas.
  • This includes but not limited to using checklists methodically and thoroughly, technical research by using all means necessary, providing Manager with specific areas of direction in technical matters, etc.
  • Manages multiple client files and demonstrates knowledge of clients’ business.
  • Prepares client files in the manner prescribed by Sr Associate to allow Manager to represent clients before tax authorities and/or aids Manager in representing before tax authorities.
  • Prepares response communications to taxing authorities.
  • Meets and monitors deadlines of work assigned and clients in relation to budgets and due dates.
  • Represents the firm in the community
  • Must engage in 40 hours of CPE
