Health Informatics Internship (Anthem, Inc.)

Internship in the Business Support Operations department; this intern(s) will learn operations supporting Part A, Part B, and HIGLAS Medicare operations. 
 
This intern will work side-by-side with seasoned Medicare experts and analysts. This position should have knowledge in business process, claims processing or operations, medical billing, or any combination of education and experience.  
 
This role is responsible for working CQ tickets and providing CR/TDL support in whatever capacity is needed.  This role will be expected to develop a working level of knowledge towards MCS, FISS, and/or HIGLAS.  They should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel. They should be able to apply principles of data analytics to help identify trends in claims data, business processes, and coding guidelines to support improvement opportunities.  They should be able to interact with business analysts, business owners, and work in groups, as well as manage and prioritize work assignments based on business need. 
 
Intern will be assigned to work along-side a seasoned business analyst. They will be given a workload to learn and eventually manage on their own. These workloads could include- CR testing, production file maintenance, pricing file updates, mass adjustment coding, and department reporting. 
 
Intern will be exposed to Medicare processing systems- FISS, MCS, HIGLAS, CWF. Intern will have the opportunity to experience working with the federal government in a department that has direct daily interaction. 
 
Prefer graduate student, or senior year undergraduate.
