Battleground Texas Engagement Fund is a 501 c (4) organization dedicated to civic engagement and voter registration as tools to build stronger communities. We believe that regular people like us can significantly impact local, state and national elections. Every day, we’re expanding the electorate by registering voters -- and, as importantly, mobilizing Texans to engage in the civic process.

About the Student Voter Initiative:
Our Student Voter Initiative organizing program is a student education and voter registration initiative working to educate and empower Texas students. Our program is designed to support and empower student organizers, building up the next generation of Texas leaders while fostering lasting organizing infrastructure on college campuses across the state.

About Student Organizers:
Student Organizers are our leaders on college campuses, and the backbone of our efforts to increase young people’s voter participation and civic engagement. Student Organizers will engage, mobilize and register young people, provide civic education to their peers, and activate students into becoming lifelong voters. We’re looking for authentic, talented and resourceful organizers who are passionate about building grassroots political power for young people in Texas through voter registration and relationship building. • Reliable transportation and a driver’s license
  • Eligible to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in their county of residence
  • At least 18 years of age

  • Currently enrolled as a student at the campus where the position is located
  • Previous organizing experience a plus, but not required
  • Some travel may be necessary, so access to reliable transportation is a plus.
  • As digital organizing and online data management are required, access to the internet is a must
  • Availability to work between 10 and 15 hours per week

Compensation: All Battleground Texas Student Organizers will receive a $2,000 stipend paid over the course of the 10 week program ($200 per week).

Time Commitment: Student Organizers are asked to work between 10 and 15 hours per week. Our Campus Coordinator will work to accommodate your class schedule and you will have flexibility in setting your own schedule at the beginning of the program.
