Product Manager - Microlab Vantage

Job Description

This position will be responsible for the Microlab VANTAGE Liquid Handling System road map planning and execution throughout the product life cycle. Work closely with R&D Engineering, Sales, Field Applications and Market Segment leadership teams to gather and prioritize customer requirements, develop innovative product ideas and define the strategic marketing direction to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

  • Ensure product performance and profit are consistent with market research and company objectives.
  • Responsible for knowing customer needs and assessing competition by product comparison through market data research.
  • Determine product pricing and forecasting based on market research, production costs and anticipated demand.
  • Identify areas for growth and create strategic product road map for Microlab VANTAGE to help drive adoption of the product and differentiating features.
  • Assist in defining of sales and pricing strategies to ensure revenue and market growth.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the product requirements, market needs and competition from customers, stakeholders and other teams' feedback.
  • Make creative recommendations to expand product base and vision and improve positioning.
  • Manage and develop new product ideas from inception to execution, interacting with R&D and QA teams to ensure proper implementation of product features and test plans.
  • Work closely with R&D to ensure that strategic directions, as established by the product road map and life cycle management, are completed in a timely manner.
  • Continue professional and technical education, attending workshops, seminars, etc.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Science required. MBA is preferred.
  • 3 plus years of Product Management experience required.
  • 2 plus years of technical experience with automation robotics is strongly desired. Prior sales experience in this field will be considered.
  • Must have good planning, budget, and customer skills, and be able to demonstrate them to an audience.
  • Prior product management and product development experience is a must.
  • Prior project management experience is desired.
  • Sales planning, forecasting and financial planning are desired.
  • Requirements analysis, including pricing and planning, as well as competitive analysis is highly desired.
  • Working knowledge and technical expertise in laboratory automation is highly desired.
  • A good working knowledge of computers is a must.
  • Experience with capital scientific equipment is highly desired.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
