Texas Biomed Summer Internship
Students selected for the Texas Biomed internship program will be placed in a laboratory setting under the guidance of a Texas Biomed faculty or department mentor. Most placements are in research laboratories; however, internships are often available in areas such as marketing/communications, Human Resources, finance, and/or safety. Interns will be paid hourly as they work full-time for the 8-week summer internship. During their experience, interns will gain research and/or career skills and, if placed in a research laboratory, will conduct and contribute to current laboratory studies. Students begin their 8-week internship on June 6, 2022, completing their work on July 29, 2022. The focus of the Texas Biomed program is to provide each intern with a one-on-one, hands-on experience whether participating in an investigator-initiated research project or engaging in department-specific experiences. Upon completion of an internship at Texas Biomed students will have acquired skills and valuable experiences, better enabling them to successfully pursue graduate studies in biomedical fields and/or pursue a career within the STEM workforce.
