The successful candidate will work alongside the Director of Internships & Career Experiences to identify barriers, administer scholarship funding, and assist in the institutionalization of best practices with internship and career experience-related programming.

Responsibilities


  • Assist the director in strategic planning and with experiential learning program development and implementation efforts; represent the Internships & Career Experiences team when necessary.
  • Create programming and content to support student interest in experiential learning and to develop a holistic career experiences portfolio that includes service learning, global mobility, leadership, research, student employment and entrepreneurship. Create programming and content to support internship program development and management by employers.
  • Create and lead a campus-wide professional development program to help students develop skills, knowledge and experiences that complement their academic development for current and future job markets. Develop and lead credentialing and portfolio-building initiatives to expand on professional development. Collaborate with the employer engagement team to source employers to lead professional development programs.
  • Lead, manage and grow zero-credit and credit-bearing internship courses. Create and continually develop course curriculum, and provide course instruction. Manage site supervisor relationships and provide guidance when necessary. Develop curriculum for future courses related to research, entrepreneurship, service learning and global mobility.
  • Develop and manage internship scholarship programs. Promote scholarship programs to students and manage application and disbursement processes.
  • Partner with director to develop and lead faculty and staff initiatives to integrate career competencies into curricular and co-curricular experiences and to produce career competency mapped syllabi.
  • Represent Texas Career Engagement and Internships and Career Experiences at national and regional conferences and on committees and workgroups. Promote opportunities and best practices with employers and campus partners. 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience or Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in higher education or career services environment. Demonstrated experience in working with faculty and students, with a preference for individuals who have experience in the design of learning programs, particularly with regard to access initiatives. Proven leadership and management skills. Strong attention to detail with organizational and analytical acumen. Experience marketing programs to students. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and more than two (2) years working with high-impact practices. Experience managing or organizing large-scale projects. Knowledge of federal financial aid, Canvas, Handshake, Career Competencies, and in building effective partnerships internally and externally preferred.

Salary Range

$60,000 + depending on qualifications
