Education Program Coordinator

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Education Program Coordinator will work directly with the Community Relations Director & Creative Conference Director to manage overall program development, administration, and supervision of the education programs during the Atlanta Film Festival, specifically the Creative Conference, and the year‐round education programming of the Atlanta Film Society. Additionally, they will manage the events, the part‐time site coordinators, and consultants hired for the programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to Creative Conference Director and Community Relations Manager
  • Tasked to work on logistical, operational and informational coordinating of educational programs, including but not limited to;
  • Creative Conference during the Atlanta Film Festival
  • Classes, Workshops & Webinars (year‐round)
  • Eat, Drink & B‐Indie (year‐round, once per month)
  • Developing Educational Outreach Initiatives (year‐round)
  • Creating instructor agreements that spell class details (for registration classes)
  • Securing necessary facilities and equipment for programs
  • Coordinating with other Atlanta Film Festival staff on ticketing, marketing, tech support, etc.
  • Reconciling any bills and ensuring that final settlements are completed.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with GSuite, Airtable, Salesforce, and Eventive desired but not required.
  • Strong writing and communications skills—must be able to effectively create and edit web copy, as well as coordinate promotion of multiple films and events through various outreach channels.
  • Strong passion for Atlanta.
  • Amazing organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Must be proactive, willing to take initiative, communicative, and able to work with minimal supervision and a limited budget—a very limited budget.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, anticipate needs and respond to last-minute requests.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility.
  • Similar experience and an interest in film/the arts preferred.
  • Ability to work well in team settings and provide support, as needed, to other ATLFS departments.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Special mutant powers a plus, but not required.

TIMEFRAME & HOURS

This is a full-time position with hours expected to be an average of 40 hours per week. Schedules and workdays are designed to provide as much flexibility as possible. The contract is through June 30, 2022 (following the 46th Atlanta Film Festival), with the option to renew for the 2023 fiscal year (after a post-festival evaluation and review process), and the intent to continue each year. While the position allows working from home, candidates must be local for managing in-person events.
