Accounting Specialist

GTG is a Linden, NJ based Transportation company, looking for an accounting specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is responsible for preparing invoices, managing accounts receivables and submitting invoices to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and send invoices
  • Perform collection calls/emails on outstanding customer accounts
  • Handle billing and collection inquiries from customers
  • Help to resolve any accounts receivable issues with sales person in a professional and proactive manner
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email
  • Reconcile receivables within vendor portals
  • Maintains and distributes accounting documents and records to appropriate persons
  • Performs other general accounting duties required to support the Accounting department
  • Alert upper management about discrepancies and or sudden change of costs/expenses
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure intercompany AP and AR are invoiced and settled.
  • Help to confirm pay terms with vendors
  • Ensure timing processing (including documentation and approvals) of invoices for all vendors following the organization procedures.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrate a high sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus
  • Proficient with Google Office
