Sales Specialist – Laboratory Devices (East Coast), Boston, MA

The Sales Specialist - Laboratory Devices (East Coast) will be responsible for developing new leads, promoting products and managing sales opportunities from infancy to close. The goal is to attain or exceed sales target plans within the assigned territory. The products will include, but may not be limited to Hamilton Devices (Plate Sealer, MPE[2]), the MLPrep ®, and potentially services.
This position is based in the Franklin, Massachusetts area office. The Sales Specialist reports to the VP of Robotics located in the Hamilton Company, Reno, NV facility.
Business Development Responsibilities:
Develop new business and foster repeat business within your assigned territory.
  • Administration and qualification of all applicable leads.
  • Collaborate with field-based Regional Robotics Platform Sales Reps and Sales Managers, to identify, qualify and drive sales opportunities.
  • Manage post-sale follow-up (first week, six months and annually) to nurture existing relationships and increase revenue through repeat business.
  • Develop and grow the current customer database and keep detailed records accurately in CRM.

Sales Responsibilities:
Manage all business from leads to sales for applicable product lines within your assigned territory.
  • Qualify leads. Promote, present and demonstrate products.
  • Quote new business and manage opportunities to close.
  • Attain or exceed sales target goals.
  • Assist with office management tasks associated with sales (i.e. coordination of visits, activities, operations, etc.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Sell Hamilton Robotic Laboratory Devices MLPrep®, Plate Sealer, MPE[2] products.
  • Achieve annual sales quota.
  • Manage and navigate the overall end-to-end sales process (lead generation to sales opportunity closure) for specified product line(s).
  • Assist with office management tasks associated with sales (i.e. coordination of visits, activities, operations, etc.)
  • Possess a strong application knowledge of how the company's products and services solve customer problems and create customer value.
  • Accurately and professionally, represent Hamilton products and services to the marketplace and make recommendations for product improvement and pricing.
  • Develop, grow, and manage Sales to achieve maximum sales coverage for optimum sales expense.
  • Create customer quotes including the maintenance and creation of quote templates.
  • Target key accounts and develop consistent, long-term sales account strategies.
  • Attend and participate in local trade shows, seminars, and conferences.
  • Present/demonstrate company products, technologies, and services in sales situations (in person and remotely).
  • Investigate all sales leads, determine potential, and regularly report on this information.
  • Become CRM "power user" and application expert.
  • Report on competitive activity.
  • Participate in sales meetings and strategy sessions to further company marketing and sales programs.
  • Laboratory device sales are managed primarily through on-line resources and other virtual techniques. Therefore, the Sales Specialist can expect to spend approximately 80% of their time located in-office (Franklin, MA) with approximately 20% travel time within the region.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in chemistry, biology, or clinical science.
  • Must have 2 plus years of field sales or technical support experience in the scientific products industry.
  • Must be able to demonstrate robotic instruments and software to prospective customers.
  • Must have good working knowledge of computers and software.
  • Must have good territory management and planning skills, be able to travel within the United States or Canada and hold a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
