Early Careers: Reinsurance Client Advocate

Aon is looking for a Client Advocate!

Locations: Chicago, IL and Bloomington, MN

As part of an industry-leading team, you will work closely with various teams to provide exceptional customer experience and be a part of the best-in-class client services team in the reinsurance industry. We are looking for a candidate who is excited to support our clients as their dedicated advocate. Our experienced team will also help you build and implement your individual career development plan with dedicated mentors that will assist you along the way.
This role falls under Aon’s early career development program, known as Launch. The Launch program is a supplemental opportunity for recent college recruits to accelerate their personal and career development at Aon.


Position Responsibilities - Claims Track

  • Assist clients in the notification and explanation to reinsurers of claims
  • Be responsible for managing premium in excess of $1m on behalf of your dedicated clients
  • Handle the reinsurance assets of our valued clients, including Fortune 500 companies
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide a world-class customer experience
  • Assist with sophisticated coverage issues and resolve differences by providing contract interpretation and claim information
  • Help reinsurers understand claims and claim issues across many lines of business
  • Learn claims and reinsurance accounting
  • Prepare presentations
  • Organize and manage critical claims meetings
  • Attend industry conferences
  • Assist Clients (and client’s insureds) with large catastrophe events

Position Responsibilities - Accounting Track

  • Connect with clients, accounting team, sales team, and other operating units to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide assistance
  • Act as a liaison between the client and Aon regarding accounting issues
  • Verify contract terms and accounting structure
  • Finalize contracts, schedule revenue, and transmit applicable premium documents
  • Request deposit premium and term adjustments from ceding companies
  • Request and monitor ceding company cash as well as receipt of premium and proportional reports for revenue to be recognized
  • Prepare/review sliding scale commissions, profit commissions, and retrospective premium adjustments
  • Collect reinsurer and London bureau open balances to ensure payment to the ceding company
  • Review funds available report each day and assist cash team as needed to disburse ceding company funds
  • Review accounting journals, track currency conversion rates, research and reconcile accounting information, and help clients follow state insurance regulations
  • Review internal statistical data

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
Applicants for this role, which is part of the Launch program, must graduate between December 2021 – June 2022 and have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
The Launch Program was established to mentor and develop future business leaders. This program “launches” the Aon careers of our campus hires in various full-time positions across the company. The Launch training curriculum prepares participants for success as they build relationships and explore growth opportunities throughout the organization.
