eCommerce Marketing Associate

Opportunity: eCommerce Marketing Associate – Independent Collection
 
HHM is looking for a self-starting individual who has an entrepreneurial spirit and an eagerness to learn digital marketing and project management including search engine optimization, search engine marketing, web design/development, eCommerce channels, social media, local marketing and eCommerce. The eCommerce Marketing Associate is responsible for assisting the HHM eCommerce Department on the day-to-day management and execution of eCommerce marketing tactics, strategies, and promotions for the growing collection of independently branded hotels within the portfolio.
 
This position reports directly to the Director of eCommerce for the Independent Collection. This position supports administrative and digital marketing coordination and eCommerce tasks, working cooperatively with regional directors, senior managers and property-level management to advance HHM’s company goals, while supporting and directing regional and local-level online strategy and promotions.
 
Essential Job Functions
  • Administrative Responsibilities include:
  • eCommerce, website performance, paid media and social media reporting
  • Image and digital asset organization and distribution
  • Third party site updates and audits
  • Shared drive organization and file management
  • Invoice processing
  • Proofreading and editing of internal and external materials
  • Project management software superuser (Jira and Basecamp)
  • eCommerce and Digital Marketing support duties include:
  • Provide eCommerce and Digital Marketing support for the eCommerce Department and the direct property level teams on all aspects of digital marketing, project and client management services
  • Assist eCommerce Directors and Managers with strategy execution. Tactics to include digital advertising, copywriting and editing, search engine and website optimizations, paid search marketing, online media campaign management, multi-channel marketing campaigns, etc
  • Administer content updates across multiple hotel website properties on an ongoing basis to promote special offers, optimize homepage, ensure relevancy, etc.
  • Works in tandem with Email Marketing, Content and Creative teams on omnichannel efforts to achieve branding and content marketing goals
  • Facilitates website feature requests with website development teams
  • Responsible for merchandising opportunities and management across websites to maximize hotel conversion and revenue
  • Conduct reporting on marketing production, analyze data and expenditure for hotels
  • Audit branded hotel sites on a monthly basis to ensure messaging and offer alignment; perform SEO audits quarterly; update content as needed on brand hotel websites
  • Audit booking engines on a consistent basis to ensure best practices are being followed
  • Assist and support hotel listings, citations and content on various online directories and travel agency websites in partnership with local property leaders and the Revenue Management Department including Google My Business, Yext, and TripAdvisor
  • Assist in project life cycle through requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and launch
  • Assist with Internet marketing budget planning and management for ongoing campaigns
  • Support Sales and Revenue Department regarding promotional and tactical marketing, eTools, and electronic media
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with property leaders, eCommerce Marketing Managers, Internet marketing vendors, Revenue Management team members and Vice President of eCommerce to ensure clear scope and project progress
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities (conferences, workshops, and industry events), reading professional publications, and maintaining network of industry players

Position Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or higher. Degree in the field of Marketing, Advertising or Hospitality/Travel degree a plus
  • At least one year of hotel property level sales and/or marketing experience, account management or internship experience at a digital marketing/online advertising agency
  • Knowledge of hospitality and travel industry and marketing technology solutions a plus
  • Website analytics experience a plus (Google Analytics)
  • Website content management experience required (Wordpress, SquareSpace, etc)
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail-oriented habits
  • Technical acumen for learning digital technologies
  • Analytical mindset
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Excel
  • Diligent work habits and ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, creative, confident and energetic personality
  • Must be a team player
  • Content management and web analytics experience
  • Ability to independently organize and complete multiple tasks and projects

Work Environment and Context
  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, and weekends
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing and pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, lifting up to 20 pounds
  • Position can be based in Harrisburg or Philadelphia, PA.
