Summer Training in Academic Research and Scholarships (STARS)

Overview:
The BWH STARS Program is geared towards fostering the interests of underrepresented minority students considering future careers as research scientists, physicians, and healthcare professionals. During the 8 weeks of the program, students engage in basic science or translational research projects under the supervision of Brigham and Women's Hospital's and Harvard Medical School's top researchers. BWH STARS also provides the students with the opportunity to shadow clinicians and network with members of the BWH and HMS Faculty. Additionally, students participate in a number of educational and training seminars designed to enhance their professional development, encourage academic excellence, and introduce the multiple career pathways available in the biomedical sciences. The program is rounded out with social networking events to create lasting relationships with faculty, staff and peers!
