Field Engineering Paint Department
Job Summary
- Conduct field surveys with customer and classification society whether it's ABS, DNV. During these surveys blast and/or replacement will be identified and quantified. The Field Engineer will work in conjunction with Project Management, Engineering and Production. This position will assist Paint section with redline drawings for as-built drawings and assist Project Engineer with project duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Survey and physically mark material to be replaced with owner and classification society.
- Read, comprehend, and interpret drawings. Read and comprehend project paint specifications.
- Mark-up existing drawing with area to be replaced, generate a drawing or sketch clearly identifying all items to be replaced.
- Take measurements in the field and calculate square feet.
- Prepare Bill of Material and generate transfer form, purchase requisition or both.
- Provide the Hull Superintendent and Trade Supervisors with the information needed.
- Other assignations as needed.
- Support paint department with daily operation.
- Other assignations as needed.
Experience and Knowledge required
- Minimum of 2 years in a marine/offshore position
- Possess knowledge 3D engineering programs
- Possess basic knowledge with ABS rules and regulations
- Possess basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Possess knowledge of paint specifications
