Broker/Account Executive Trainee

Job Summary:  This is a full time, on-site, production position accountable for building relationships, servicing clients, generating revenue and proper documentation of underwriting files.

Essential Functions:

  • Learn all aspects of the sales side of the business from the ground up.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients, employees and other business partners.
  • Manage inbound and outbound phone calls and emails.
  • Use underwriting guidelines to analyze risks and process contract and brokerage business within limits of authority.
  • Underwrite accounts in a manner that upholds standards and is profitable for all involved.
  • Generate revenue to meet/surpass expected goals.
  • Maintain well documented underwriting files.
  • Follow up with clients to answer technical questions and/or acquire pending information.
  • Provide account specific direction for the Customer Service Teams as needed.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for tasks and performance tracking.
  • Keep abreast of market dynamics and industry trends.
  • Attend meetings (internal & external) and industry related events as needed.
  • Provide assistance and back-up support to underwriting team(s) as needed.
  • Mentor, guide and train to others as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned and business needs arise.

Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree, relevant certification/designation or equivalent number of years of experience in the field of insurance underwriting a plus.
  • Must be willing to study for and obtain  2 insurance licenses within the  1st 60 days of employment.  (we provide the study materials and exams)    
  • Must be willing to pursue and obtain industry educational designation(s) within assigned time lines.  (we provide the study materials as exams)
