JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Electrical Professional Engineer, PE Texas or Nebraska

Project Houston Office

Job Location: Houston Texas and Nebraska, USA

Job type/Contract: Start date ASAP

Job summary/Role description

Performing or supervise/verify the performance of electrical engineering activities and production of documents including:

 

  • Single Line Diagrams,
  • Calculations of Load flow, Short Circuit, Arc Flash, Lightning Protection, Grounding System, Relay setting
  • Hazardous area Classification with relevant Layouts
  • Grounding System Layouts
  • Other engineering documents whose production is required to be performed or supervised by a Professional Engineer

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • These activities shall include signing and stamping the deliverable documents in accordance with the law of the State of Texas or Nebraska, depending on the location of the Project.
  • The activity to be supervised/verified may be performed by the engineering services of Tecnimont USA (Houston, Tx), Tecnimont SpA (Milan, Italy) and Tecnimont Private Limited (Mumbai, India). The main location will be at Tecnimont USA’s office in Houston but missions to the other offices, as well as to client offices, project sites and vendor premises shall be considered as essential part of the engineering activity.
  • The electrical engineering activities are intended for the construction or the revamping of industrial plants for the production of Ammonia, Urea, or Polymers or for the refining and treatment of petroleum and its derivatives as well as natural gas and its derivatives. Electrical systems to be designed include substations with the relevant switchgear, motor control centers, both medium and low voltage, transformers, distribution panels, UPS systems, PF improvement etc. as well as all cables and cable ways, both above and underground, grounding system, lighting system, diesel generators, distribution panels, electrical heat tracing and any other electrical system relevant to the said projects. Competence about high voltage systems is appreciated but not

 

Knowledge & Qualifications

 

  • Electrical engineer with a 4 or 5 years of experience in industrial electric systems, especially in petrochemical or oil & gas industry, registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and Nebraska.
  • Availability to travel to site for field walks, client meetings, etc.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Relevant experience in construction EPC projects;
  • Minimum 4 5 years’ experience in the specific discipline;
  • Similar role covered in last three projects, of comparable size;
  • Experience working on Contractor side

  • Communicating effectively with fellow staff as well as with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving to make adjustments when plans don’t go as expected.
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions and multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
