Behavioral Interventionist (Facility Based Day Treatment)

What you will be doing:

As a Behavioral Interventionist, your day begins at 5am, transporting youth to AMIkids facility-based day treatment program, at the program you will serve as a leader and a role model to the youth, working alongside the youth in our care directing, coaching, and safely supervising youth. You will collaborate with staff to develop creative and alterative behavior methods to prevent incidents or altercations.

Essential Job Duties

  • Effective use of the Behavior Modification System by providing redirection and coaching to youth,
  • Coach and advise youth helping them to grow and develop in the areas of personal responsibility, social skills, community living skills, interpersonal communications, and behavior,
  • May provide one-on-one tutoring and computer lab assistance as needed,
  • Complete incident, accident, and behavioral reports according to standard operating procedures. Notify management immediately of problems and/or incidents,
  • Document and review required notes in applicable Logs,
  • Ensure facility, equipment and supplies are compliant with all laws, regulations, and policies,
  • Teach youth how to maintain all equipment within compliance standards,
  • Maintain the repair and maintenance log and inventory of related equipment,
  • Administer first aid and CPR during emergencies in accordance with the national standards,
  • May be required to supervise in day and/or overnight trips, special activities that involve recreational sports, and may require extended 16-hour workdays/24 hour on-call status,
  • Drive program’s vehicles as required in accordance with AMIkids transportation guidelines,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned,

You must have:

  • High School diploma/GED, Associate or Bachelor degree preferred,
  • Prefer a minimum one-year related experience within an educational or youth service program, working with troubled youth desirable.
