Innovation Engineer - Durham, North Carolina (Master's Degree Preferred)

As an Innovation Manager Junior, you will help bringing new innovative ideas to the medical business unit and perform viability assessments of those ideas, to support driving forwards our innovation.

The Innovation Manager Junior will work cross-functionally with the different internal departments, as well as with outside collaborators. In addition to technical qualifications, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, inquisitive, organized, and able to thrive in the face of ambiguity.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ideation: 
  • Participate to the ideation process in cross-collaboration with other departments and potential partners (brainstorming, hackathon, call for proposals, etc.)
  • Ideas assessment
  • Analyze the different necessary aspects of an idea (business case, customer value, market and strategic fit, etc.)
  • Coordinate the analysis of necessary aspects from other relevant departments (IP, technical feasibility, etc.)
  • Report-out
  • Prepare comprehensive report-out to be presented and shared with relevant stakeholders

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

  • Experience in ideation and/or early-stage product development/definition (incl. market research, customer insights, etc.)
  • Experience in the surgical field, in medical practice and/or in user-experience is a plus.
  • Experience in innovation network, events, etc.
  • Experience as a start-up founder or early-stage startup member is a plus
  • Engineering knowledge is a plus.
  • Equivalent: MSc in engineering

 

 

STEM iDEAS – Rotational Leadership Development Program

In our STEM iDEAS Rotational Leadership Development Program, you’ll jump into two year-long projects followed by a 6-month project that’s either international or outside your functional/technical area.
