Network Engineer

GWA is seeking to hire a network engineer responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting the network infrastructure for our new facility in Sherman Texas. This role will provide strong knowledge and skills in the various areas of networking for our local plant and influence the global network infrastructure for all Global Wafers sites.
Responsibilities
- Configuring and installing network devices and services, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS
- Monitoring and ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of the network systems
- Performing network maintenance and system upgrades, such as service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Troubleshooting and resolving network issues and providing level-2 or level-3 support
- Working with vendors and other IT personnel to implement and manage network solutions
- Implementing and enforcing network policies, procedures, and best practices
- Creating and maintaining network documentation and diagrams
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in networking protocols, such as IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS
- Familiar with the OSI or TCP/IP model and how network devices operate at different layers
- Experienced in using network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools, such as Aruba Central, Wireshark, Zabbix or others
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with others in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
