Chimpanzee Animal Caregiver Aide

We are now seeking a dedicated Chimpanzee Caregiver Aide to join our team, assisting in providing high-quality care to our beloved chimpanzee residents in a safe and secure manner.
 
Position Overview:
As a Chimpanzee Caregiver Aide at Project Chimps, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Caregivers and other personnel in their mission to care for our chimpanzee residents. Under the guidance of the Chimp Care Supervisor, you'll collaborate closely with Caregivers and other Caregiver Aides, ensuring that our chimpanzees receive the utmost care and attention in their sanctuary home.
 
Your Impact:
Your passion for our values and mission will shine through as you actively participate in chimpanzee husbandry and care, establishing meaningful connections with our chimpanzee residents. You'll assist in the preparation of cleaning supplies and equipment for daily husbandry tasks, ensuring our enclosures remain safe and comfortable for our chimpanzees.
 
As you clean and disinfect chimpanzee enclosures, launder bedding and toys, and prepare meals, you'll contribute to the physical and emotional well-being of our cherished residents. Your dedication to following Project Chimps' policies and procedures will set a positive example for other team members, and your critical thinking and problem-solving skills will be invaluable in supporting Care staff with behavior concerns.
 
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you'll ideally have a High School Diploma or GED, with a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field being preferred. Being 18 years of age or older, you'll bring a keen sense of responsibility and dedication to providing high-quality care to our chimpanzee residents.
 
Your ability to move/lift 50 pounds and work in challenging physical environments, including outdoor animal enclosures, will enable you to navigate the demands of the job. With good communication, excellent interpersonal skills, and basic computer proficiency, you'll be well-equipped to collaborate effectively with the team.
