NPs are more than just health care providers; they are mentors, educators, researchers and administrators. The NP is required to build trust and rapport with every patient in order to provide the best experience possible. NPs are required to be in professional presentation at all times and have strong communication etiquette, both in-person and over the phone.

Being employed by SIMC you will be in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a full range of primary and specialty health care services, including, but not limited to: 

● Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work, x-rays
● Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, and injuries. 

● Prescribing medications and other treatments 

● Managing patients’ overall care 

● Counseling patients on treatments 

● Educating patients on disease prevention and positive health and lifestyle choices

Qualifications and Requirements: 

All NPs must have completed their bachelor's degree program and have advanced clinical training beyond their initial professional registered nurse (RN) preparation. In addition, NPs have specialized knowledge and clinical competency to practice in primary care and long-term health care settings.
