Senior Regulatory Analyst - JC-413149

Energy Division/ Distribution Planning Branch/ Grid Resiliency and Microgrids:

Working in the Grid Resiliency and Microgrids Section of the Energy Division’s Distribution Planning Branch, the incumbent will be part of a team of distribution infrastructure professionals and will use their analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex regulatory problems.
 

More specifically, the incumbent will serve as a senior regulatory analyst for the CPUC rulemaking on microgrids and implementation of microgrids-related policy. The incumbent will work to ensure utility compliance with CPUC requirements, oversee utility administration of the Microgrid Incentive Program, and reduce barriers to microgrid deployment, such as through the development of multi-customer, multi-property tariff. The incumbent will perform additional work in CPUC rulemakings related to distribution infrastructure, including general rate cases and other utility applications, to evaluate and resolve new policy and regulatory issues that are encountered.
 

This is a senior-level position that will involve coordinating workshops, reviewing and evaluating testimony and comments, conducting in-depth policy analysis, drafting policy memos with recommendations, reviewing and approving advice letters, and drafting resolutions for Commission approval. The analyst will work closely with other staff members and Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), develop work plans, brief decision-makers, advise ALJs on rulings, scoping memos, and proposed decisions, and host stakeholder meetings.
