Project Test Engineer (Battery and Aerospace and Defense)

Our operation in Akron, New York focuses on providing services for the renewable energy and space/defense markets and is also the home to our equipment design and fabrication center. From testing the next generation of batteries to power vehicles to evaluating satellite and space products for the rigors of launch/flight, you have the opportunity to expand your electrical and mechanical skill set while working in a team-orientated, hands-on environment.

Engineering Responsibilities

Daily roles include customer interaction, high-level problem solving, and test analysis.

  • Collaborate with related MGA operations to maintain consistent operating practices and introduce improvements throughout.
  • Provide “hands-on” test engineering including project setup, specifications, and performance.
  • Provide technical support for day-to-day testing activities.
  • Forecast facility and equipment needs to support business growth.
  • Manage/initiate continuous improvement initiatives without disruption to day-to-day testing activities.
  • Ensure that quality practices are being followed and implemented as necessary.

Requirements

Working at MGA, it’s critical to have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. For this position, you must have at least a Bachelor of Engineering related degree from an Accredited University. Official transcripts and at least 2 professional or educational references will be required during the interview process.

Additional Qualifications Include:

  • Strong desire to work in an advanced technical field.
  • Quality and safety mindset
  • Comfortable using hand tools.
  • Comfortable working with computers
  • Ability to travel – as part of building skillsets, the first 6 months of onboarding will follow a rotational approach in other MGA operations
  • Authorized to work in the United States (Aerospace and Defense positions require US citizenship)
