Speech Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF)

FOCUS is a fun, family-oriented, therapist-owned and operated multidisciplinary pediatric therapy clinic in Fort Myers, FL. We serve children with a range of developmental delays, disabilities and challenges. We offer Speech, Occupational, Physical and Behavioral (ABA) therapy as well as ADOS testing for children. FOCUS is looking for recently graduated Speech Language Pathologists in their Clinical Fellowship year. With the highest level of clinical support, and consistent mentorship on site at all times, we make sure you’re set up for success in your Clinical Fellow year and future! SLP Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited University with an M.A. or M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders that is recognized by ASHA.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a full background screening
  • Maintain the highest level of patient care by providing patients and families loving and compassionate support and guidance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • SLP must be organized and have the ability to multi-task and apply critical thinking skills to solve problems and prioritize tasks
  • SLP must be able to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient is reaching their highest potential across all disciplines
  • Proficiency using office based technology programs and electronic communication such as Google Docs, EMR and email
  • Physical activity required, including but not limited to: sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull and lift 50lbs(+-)
  • Experience in Early Intervention preferred
  • CPR certification

SLP Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide FUN and productive therapy that makes the children feel comfortable, special, safe and loved
  • SLP will conduct professional screenings and evaluate language abilities using a variety of diagnostic tests and documented best practices
  • Develop treatment plans based on the needs of the INDIVIDUAL child
  • SLP will provide frequent and consistent parent/caregiver education
  • Responsible for daily completion of documentation, reports and session notes in EMR and other platforms as necessary
