French Teacher

Position Summary:  Provide students with learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to be productive members of society.  Ensure opportunities for students to attain information, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for a smooth transition from grade to grade, school to school and ultimately school to life.  

Qualifications:  

  1. Oklahoma State Department of Education Teacher Certification with Endorsements for Subject/Grade Level is required.
  2. Highly Qualified in Assigned Area(s) is required.
     

The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to some of the listed qualifications.

Customer Contacts (Internal and External):

• Internal: Administration, teachers, students, support staff.

• External: Parents, community agencies.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Satisfies the expectations of the Standards of Performance and Conduct for Teachers.
  2. Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school district.
  3. Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  4. Implements the district’s curriculum.
  5. Presents the content required in Oklahoma State approved standards.
  6. Communicates high expectations through words and actions.
  7. Plans and delivers instructional/learning strategies and activities designed to meet the individual interests, needs, and abilities of each student.
  8. Cooperates and works with other staff members in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to site, district, and state requirements.
  9. Performs related tasks of the job.
     

Working Conditions:

Typical working conditions are a climate controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gasses is very limited.  Noise level is usually moderate as in a normal office environment, and does include sounds of a school hallway, cafeteria/playground environment.  No environmental hazards are encountered in the normal performance of duties.

Physical Demands:

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.  Work may require occasional pushing, pulling or carrying up to 50 pounds.  Work involves frequent standing, walking and sitting.
