Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary
Responsible for carrying out design and development assignments connected with manufacturing equipment and processes including: tools, jigs, and special equipment to achieve desired production rates and quality standards.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Works with other Manufacturing Systems Engineers and trainees.
Must possess and be able to demonstrate the following:
1. The ability to work autonomously and in a cross-functional team environment. 
2. The ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form.
3. Ability to present analytical and design information to Parker staff, customers and suppliers in a concise and understandable manner.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Investigates and analyzes the cost and reliability of using various equipment and processes.
- Studies performance and troubles in existing tools and equipment and recommends improvements through redesign or modification.
- Estimates costs of assigned projects together with a satisfactory delivery schedule.
- Follows up to see that schedules are met.
- makes layouts and detail drawings of equipment assigned.
- Evaluates various equipment and methods and points out advantages, disadvantages and production capabilities.
- Recommends the purchase items needed to keep equipment properly maintained.
- Checks on process capabilities of equipment designed to see that it is properly maintained.
- Keeps abreast of all new development in equipment or processes that could be adapted to improve manufacturing processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as dictated by responsibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering or Technology field and manufacturing experience required.
- Good math skills and familiarity with personal computer and CAD software required. 
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision. 
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred. Prefer Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, FMEAs, and quality systems experience.
-Working knowledge of VFD’s, PLC’s and other electronic controllers. Experience with Allen Bradley preferred.
-Working knowledge of vision systems. Experience with Keyence preferred.
