At Three Rivers Behavioral Health, a 129 bed facility located in West Columbia, SC, we never forget that patients are people -- people with potential, who can have better relationships and live more productive lives. For those who seek a secure environment, healing, hope, treatment, and recovery, Three Rivers is the first place for a second chance. Three Rivers provides psychiatric, detoxification/rehabilitation, and dual diagnosis treatment through inpatient services for adolescents, adults and senior adults. Our outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program offering psychiatric day treatment for adults and seniors and an Adult Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program offering day and evening sessions. 

Three Rivers Behavioral Health currently has a Full Time CTRS/Activity Therapist position available.

Responsibilities: The CTRS/Activity Therapist completes all activity therapy programming, from assessment, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, to discharge planning, as assigned. Knowledge of treatment programs, leisure education, social skill development, arts, and sports, needed. The Activity Therapist supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

The following are the job requirements for the CTRS/Activity Therapist position:   

  • Currently Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with NCTRC
  • Minimum Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Recreation Therapy.  
  • Prefer a minimum of two years’ experience in Recreation Therapy field working with a mental health population.  
  • Knowledge and experience with behavior management procedures.
