QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Certificate by the state of Texas to teach in the subject area assigned (Early Childhood).

TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY: LEVEL 2 – APPLIED (USES TECHNOLOGY FOR SPECIFIC JOB-RELATED PURPOSES)

  • Applied use of technology applications
  • Apple proficiency in the area of the 4Cs (creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration) Preferred
  • Applied use of software productivity tools (i.e., Google Suite)
  • Applied use of e-mail
  • Applied use of devices
  • Applied use of job-related financial and student learning management systems
  • Applied use of multimedia tools
  • Applied use of electronic file management
  • Applied use of Technology Applications/TEKS

FUNCTION:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledgeable of curriculum and instruction in the area of early childhood
  • Knowledgeable in effective instructional, assessment, and motivational strategies that promote authentic student engagement
  • Ability to create learning centers that align to the curriculum’s thematic units
  • Ability and willingness to lead professional development at the district level for teachers and/or TAMUCC students
  • Ability to mentor and co-teach with pre-kindergarten resident (para)
  • Utilizes State TEKS and district curriculum to design engaging lessons
  • Ensures students are engaged and successful in learning, critical thinking and problem solving using a variety of modalities and effective teaching strategies
  • Maintains classroom discipline that allows for student learning, safety and teaches individual responsibility
  • Analyzes data and information from assessments for individualized learning
  • Appropriately plans for remediation and intervention for students identified as at-risk
  • Appropriately modifies and accommodates student’s needs based on IEP goals and 504 accommodations
  • Encourages reluctant and struggling learners
  • Provides positive/constructive feedback and reinforces student learning
  • Is positive and courteous to students, parents, fellow educators and the community
  • Uses effective leadership techniques
  • Demonstrates self-direction in professional growth
  • Cooperates in facilitating the administration of the school
  • Creates an environment and atmosphere conducive to learning
  • Responsible for determining and participating in professional development goals and activities that are aligned with the needs of the students, prior performance appraisal, as well as, the goals of the campus and district

Communication:

  • Communicates professionally with students, parents, educators, and the community through spoken/written expression
  • Works cooperatively with co-workers and grade level/team members
  • Confers regularly with parents on student progress

  • Exhibits positive role model characteristics to both CCISD and TAMUCC students
  • Will collaborate, mentor, and implement the co-teaching model with pre-k resident (student teacher)

University Partnership:

  • Will collaborate with residents (student teachers) and university site coordinator
  • Understands that the university and district will utilize observation decks for teachers and university students to observe best practices
  • Will participate in university activities as part of our collaboration
  • Will meet and collaborate with university site coordinator to align mentoring and co-teaching model

Standard Operation Protocols:

  • Maintains current and accurate records of daily attendance
  • Maintains current records of student grades, exams, field trips, and programs
  • Able to effectively organize and manage curriculum textbook ancillary materials
  • Is responsible for the use and care of available instructional manipulatives and materials
  • Maintains and cares for all equipment and furniture
  • Accepts related assignments as requested by principal
  • Submits all required reports and documents by due date
  • Abides by all federal, state, district, city, and campus rules, policies, and regulations

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to perform duties while standing and/or walking for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours a day.
  • Ability to see detailed information, naturally or with correction.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
