Market and Financial Analyst - Office Building Agency Leasing

This is an opportunity to join the leading office building agency leasing team in the Chicago CBD.  The candidate must be able to embrace a fast-paced and dynamic work environment while bringing a strong work ethic and attention to detail. A background in finance or real estate with market analysis, financial modeling, and writing skills a plus. This is a phenomenal entry level position into the Chicago “brokerage community” and learning the office leasing business and the CBD office market. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Track and analyze market information, absorption, lease comparables, availabilities, tenants in the market and economic data.
  • Support brokerage teams by preparing client deliverables and market presentations.
  • Support decision-making of brokerage team and clients by providing financial, market and ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Produce financial models and other analyses for transactions of varying complexity to support lease negotiations and decision-making utilizing excel-based analytical tools including net present value cash flows.
  • Perform net present value cash flow analyses and modeling utilizing rent roll, legal documents and other materials as part of due diligence process in developing models and inputs.
  • Participate in brokerage team meetings and track updates on leasing activity, market information, prospects, market knowledge and trends.
  • Assist in managing the office and vacancies with in portfolio.  Support in preparing for presentations and customer tours and video vacancies using Matterport technology.

Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate or Business with excellent academic credentials
  • Demonstrated interest in commercial real estate and becoming a broker.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverables
  • Financial analysis and market research experience a plus
  • Strong computer orientation and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word software is required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners
  • Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and workload
  • A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment
