HVAC Systems Product Management Engineer Development Program

This role is designated as hybrid with preference to be located in La Crosse, WI.

 

Position Summary:

HVAC Systems Product Management Engineer role is a leadership development opportunity providing a variety of experiences through a structured rotational program to prepare for leadership opportunities in Product Management.  Effective product management requires a diversity of experiences including customer facing, sales process, pricing analysis, system design/modeling, and development of future product requirements which this role is designed to provide. This role begins in our industry leading graduate training program (GTP) and then rotates between Product Management, Product Support, Systems Engineering, and Building Performance Modeling assignments leading to a broad view of Trane’s chiller business and the HVAC industry.

 

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):  

  • Provide in-depth technical product, systems, applications and strategic sales support for Trane’s industry-leading chiller product and systems offering
  • Author technical materials and customer presentations for use by the sales organization to aid in sales effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver training to customers and sales engineers on the use of TRACE 3D Plus and other Trane system evaluation tools.
  • Execute marketing communication that promotes sustainability, efficiency, and reliability in large applied HVAC systems
  • Advise how Trane leads the industry in the electrification/decarbonization of HVAC systems to improve customers energy efficiency levels
  • Travel to sales offices, corporate events, and customer sites in support of Trane chillers and HVAC systems, including formal presentations, sales discussions, and supporting tradeshows.
  • Understanding competitors' products and strategies and effectively communicate this information with the field, department, and other functional areas.
  • Participate and eventually lead price analysis on projects and assist in bid strategies.
  • Perform technical analysis including building energy studies which leads to strategic insight for sales material and/or product or system design and application.
  • Participate/lead in projects that relate to new product development, developing product and systems ready marketing/promotional/technical content, and improving sales tools
  • Support a professional field and customer focused environment, with measurements in place to track performance and improve the process.
  • Position requires up to 20% travel.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • PC and end user computer use (Excel, Word, Power Point, Cloud-based Selection Software).
