AgCorps Montana Farmer's Union Communications Specialist
The Montana Farmer’s Union is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the agricultural way of life. MFU serves the entire state and has three focus areas, cooperation, legislation, and education. The communications specialist will primarily focus on video and marketing design to help grow and deliver MFU’s mission in serving rural communities, family farms, & ranches. The communications specialist will help MFU achieve this goal through outreach and communication to Montana communities. This position will be about 70% in an office environment and 30% in the community. Transportation or mileage reimbursement for program activities will be provided.
Essential Functions and responsibilities:
- Write and edit copy in a variety of formats including radio, tv, & digital
- Help design and run marketing campaigns
- Support the development of publications
- Edit and proof marketing assets to ensure high editorial standards are met
- Collaborate with Communications Director and other staff when assessing project needs to help with messaging
- Support with varying brand guidelines, ensuring each department has consistency across their respective content.
- Create and edit video and imagery
- Attendance to mandatory trainings (Orientation, Symposium, mid-service training and end of service training)
- Participation in evaluation and reporting (monthly reporting, bi-weekly timesheet submission and monthly check-in calls)
