Marketing and Communications Graduate Administrative Assistant

Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders

Marketing and Communications Graduate Administrative Assistant Summer 2024

Background:

Would you like to support the U.S. Department of State’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (MWF-YALI)?

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, begun in 2014, is the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) that empowers young people through academic coursework, leadership training, and networking. In 2019, the Fellowship will provide 700 outstanding young leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa with the opportunity to hone their skills at a U.S. college or university with support for professional development after they return home.

Georgia State University (GSU) is one of the more than 20 premier universities selected nationwide in 2024 to host this program, which is a matter of pride for Georgia State University and the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. While in Atlanta, Mandela Fellows participate in our Public Management Institute to learn best practices in public management and public administration. This is your chance to engage with international leaders and become a part of this important program. Fellows will visit several organizations during their time in Atlanta; in previous years they have visited sites like the Atlanta Federal Reserve, Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
