Associate Technical Support Engineer

We have an opportunity for an Associate Technical Support Engineer to join our Kansas City, KS team. You will manage customer claims regarding post shipment product in a timely resolution within company guidelines. Coordinates field installation, initiates start-up and operator training, investigates reported field problems, diagnose, and analyze field problems to determine cause of problem and initiates required action to make repairs.

 

You will:

  • Process and prioritize customer communications relative to claims and/or concerns.
  • Collaborate with other departments not limited to Engineering and Manufacturing, Vendors, or other business units to ensure timely resolution to the customers claim.
  • Determine the root cause for each claim and organize the support information for report out to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Within guidelines of company policies and procedures resolve customer claims and document appropriate action to be taken.
  • Coordinate with the Pump Service Group and authorized service centers to complete pump repairs in a timely manner.
  • Issue work orders to manufacture for replacement parts, issue purchase orders to vendors for goods or services, issue return goods authorization for return materials, issue of credit requests to customers for work performed or goods returned, dispatch Field Service Engineers to the Jobsite for pump commissioning, troubleshooting, or repairs.
  • Provide feedback to internal stakeholders for product or process improvement.
  • Participate in weekly review with internal stakeholders to review customers claims.
  • Maintain accurate Field Service files and records noting any field changes to product.

 

Key Qualifications: 

  • B.S. degree required; Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Requires intermediate knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, welding, pump assembly, and testing.
  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude of rotating equipment required.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Requires documentation and organizational skills and a deep willingness to learn new things and retain the new knowledge.
  • Previous experience with customer service and/or experience within manufacturing plant preferred.
  • Experience with pumps/hydraulics and the SAP platform is a plus.
  • Travel 10%
